When bruschetta became a true experience

Before the 1990s, holidays in Tuscany – among the Senese hills and the southern part of the province – were a time to breathe clean air, slow down, and take care of oneself. Thermal spas were visited mainly for “treatment” rather than for simple wellness.

Chianciano Terme, with its more than 200 family-run hotels, was the main destination: mornings were dedicated to treatments, while the rest of the day was spent enjoying Tuscan cuisine and relaxing.

Sarteano, with its campsite in the heart of the village and its spring-water swimming pools, was instead the perfect choice for families and for those who wanted to enjoy a simple summer outdoors.

In those years, offering a visit to the olive mill with FREE BRUSCHETTA was a simple yet authentic way to involve visitors in our work and keep the mill alive even outside the olive harvesting season.

In a way, we were pioneers of today’s tasting experiences: a place where hospitality and passion came together, and where guests could discover the aromas and flavors of our Extra Virgin Olive Oil—intense yet delicate at the same time.

They were wonderful years, which we remember with great affection: for the simplicity of how things were done and for the warmth with which our customers rewarded us.

We owe a great deal to those years. Even today, many of our customers are the very same visitors who discovered us back then, or their children and grandchildren, who grew up with our SignorOlio and still cannot do without it on their table.

Today, a holiday in our part of Tuscany is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a long weekend in the beautiful Val d'Orcia, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and UNESCO World Heritage treasures.

It is the ideal time to relax at thermal spas or wellness centers, or to stay in elegant residences created from restored traditional Tuscan farmhouses, where tradition meets comfort.

And, fortunately, it is also an opportunity to discover the authentic flavors of our olive oil, get to know our work in the olive grove and in the mill, and enjoy a tasting experience built on hospitality and conviviality—something that has always been at the heart of our “Frantoio a Porte Aperte.”

We look forward to welcoming you in Tuscany, in Sarteano.
