Moraiolo represents one of the most famous olive trees, from which one of the best oils of the whole Italian peninsula is obtained, as the leccino is more widespread in the Tuscan region.

The Moraiolo is a rustic tree, which does not present great cultivation difficulties, as well as it requires very little attention, but as a fundamental and primary requirement it is that of being cultivated on hilly terrain.

The only disadvantage that we can find in this quality is the fact that it does not have a very great resistance against climatic weather.

Its foliage is small in volume and with little branching. This variety is characterized by being a self-sterile plant: for this reason, it needs to be pollinated by different varieties: among the best that can guarantee this operation, we certainly find the one called Pendolino, but also Morchiato and Frantoi.

The olives have a spherical shape and a black color, which quite frequently presents purple shades with a high quantity of polyphenols Moraiolo oil has an excellent green-gold color, with a medium structure, and a fruity taste.
