Between the end of April and the beginning of May, where the climate is dry and temperatures remain between 20/25 degrees, you can therefore begin to see the first flowering of the olive trees.

Small groups of white flowers grouped in clusters, called mignole. Good flowering will lead to a good harvest.

To have good results you need careful and calibrated fertilization, and a not too aggressive pruning, it is also necessary to guarantee the right amount of water, in fact, in years with persistent rain during the flowering period the production is poor as the water greatly reduces the vitality and diffusion of pollen with the wind.

On the contrary, too much water could damage the flowers by preventing pollination. If flowering is anticipated, we can hope for an abundant harvest, even in ideal climatic conditions only 2/3% of the flowers are pollinated and become fruit.

Above all, let us remember that abundant flowering does not necessarily mean abundant fruit.
